Christian Ekren is a Sound Designer and Engineer based in Fargo, North Dakota. He has been working professionally in technical theatre and live event production for more than 10 years with an emphasis in sound reinforcement and multimedia integration with professional, educational, and commercial companies around the world. His professional ethos believes that effective design drives affective experiences.
He is currently the Assistant Head of Sound for Cirque du Soleil's touring tent show KOOZÅ. Previously he was the Head of Sound for Disney on Ice: Mickey's Search Party, an arena show produced by Feld Entertainment, Inc.
His sound designs (RENT, 2015; HAIR, 2016 – West Fargo Summer Arts Intensive) have been recognized with regional awards from the Northern Boundary Section of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (NBS-USITT).
Christian is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems and minor in Computer Science.
